TV and film fans are no doubt familiar with Lesley Sharp's work from her BAFTA-nominated role in to her long-running stint as DC Janet Scott in ITV's – and now the actress is impressing viewers in ITV's new thriller, Red Eye.
The series follows a red-eye flight from London to Beijing and opens with the arrest of British doctor Matthew Nolan, who must return to China to face murder charges. London Met detective DC Hana Li must escort the doctor, who professes his innocence, back to China. But when deaths begin to occur onboard, Hana becomes embroiled in a dangerous conspiracy and it becomes clear that Nolan's life is in danger.
Lesley, 64, portrays head of MI5 Madeline Delaney, who risks her entire career to help Hana and Nolan stay alive and expose an international conspiracy. Intrigued? Watch the trailer below.

Lesley's husband is Nicholas Gleaves. Nicholas, 55, is also an actor and many might recognise him from his many roles in television, film and theatre. He's appeared in shows such as, and . He's even starred alongside Lesley in as Andy Roper. Most recently, he appeared in the ITV drama, in the role of Sergeant Phil Mackie.
His film credits include and . Nicholas is also a playwright and has recently written shows for radio.
Lesley and Nicholas first met as actors in the early nineties before their careers both reached the heights of success. They married in 1994 and have been the picture of romance ever since.
Together they share two grown-up sons, Zachary, who was born in 1994, and Gabriel, who was born in 1998.
Lesley likes to keep her personal life out of the spotlight, telling The Telegraph in 2017 that he job is "all about me", while the people in her life are "nothing to do with the business".
